First of all thank...Dear Rajarshi n all HR haters,

First of all thanks for hating HR so much. Its no wonder that people hate something only if it is successful. No wonder all people hate their bosses but it dosent change anything neither does it matter to anyone.
If HR are glorified clerks then Marketing is no more than "glorified salesmen". Atleast HR people do not have to sit on a burning firepot everyday with sales targets n all shits of the world. yes HR ppl are ppl doing 9-5 jobs but its good, they need not bother about month ends n bring the shit stress at home.
Ppl hate HR bcoz of a reason because they know that their job sucks n HR in reality is a good job.
Marketing ppl - salesmen , how many in marketing really make a marketing plan for a company....all others r just selling products. I am in investment finance n i know its all about selling only both at a bank branch level to an investment banker level.
HR - manages you ie the people of the company....they can be the biggest assets n the biggest liabilities of a company. It is HR's job to throw useless people out of the company and to keep the good people motivated to do their work....line manager has his work to do for which he is paid than to remove his stupid subordinate who is not working properly. N if its a big company with 200,000 ppl HR becomes all the more important.
finally, its no use throwing mud towards the sky as it will end up on your own face.
Thanks,

Someone who has done financial marketing for 5 years n hates it....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3623132.post-34000430810333500092010-12-30T14:39:45.420+05:302010-12-30T14:39:45.420+05:30Thanks for yet another informative post !!!Thanks for yet another informative post !!!human behavior in organizationshttp://www.212articles.com/articles/73307/1/Human-Behavior-In-Organization/Page1.htmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3623132.post-43582596004556565272010-02-24T22:49:00.477+05:302010-02-24T22:49:00.477+05:30its amazing to hear the disdain in so many of ur v...its amazing to hear the disdain in so many of ur voices towards an HR professional. i dont know much about the organizations that all of u work for... but most successful organizations hav thousands of employees. What is really strange is that the salary for a HR position seems quite high in regards to other positions within the company.

I really think any trained monkey can do HR. They just work 9-5 without any overtime, and don't even know what month-end is, or what a deadline is.

Most positions within our company require more education, and work experiance than an HR clerk.

What really gets to me is that any HR clerk has access to our exact salary, not just the pay band.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3623132.post-1157115593880935402006-09-01T18:29:00.000+05:302006-09-01T18:29:00.000+05:30Hi Gautam,It was really exciting to go through you...Hi Gautam,
It was really exciting to go through your profile and whatever u have written about HR,as i am just a begginer in the field of HR some quotes bounced but still it was a good experience....

Thanks & Regards
SumitAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3623132.post-1155571037429067052006-08-14T21:27:00.000+05:302006-08-14T21:27:00.000+05:30Dear Gautam, Firstly congrats on your new venture....Dear Gautam, Firstly congrats on your new venture. Any difference?

Perception of role & actual role in implementation - that is where people see a disconnect.. HR says that it ensures retention, while the line manager is equally powerful to dump/retain his people... Similarly the HR person can only develop training needs / performance measures / job descriptions based on inputs from line managers..

Apart from coordinating, passing papers around, making formats & processes, ensuring facilities are available, etc. what exactly does HR do which another employee can't?

A noted Indian business newspaper mentions that companies look to bring in non-HR people to look into the more strategic aspects of HR (as they know the business HR) while the transactional/routine aspects are better left to the Regular HR Professionals..
