"psychological contract" read below..why u need one....although w know one cannot be enforcable in the strict sense..

Very few graduates get into BPOs looking for a long term career. A few might like the work and decide to stick on and perform well. A big percentage of the workforce looks at it as a source of 'pocket money' and a place to make friends. They are biding time while they study for CAT/XAT/GMAT and head for further education. That was the data when we analysed causes for attrition during my tenure in an MNC BPO firm.
Thqts the exact reason
"In fact, there was a small trend of people joining firms and leaving them after 3 months. They never needed to 'work' as in all firms they spent the initial 3 months period in training. After a year of such 3-4 employment they got into a B School and never mentioned these in their CVs.

just quoted what said on the blog...............

first things ....first...how many are going to a B school...like xlri.. tiss...wharton..etc...

i am not much aware of the bpo "cluture" ...

"culture" let me say like edgar schien is ... read the book. The whole idea is to create employability in bpos'....so once u take in the rite people....provide them training...wouldnt u like to save them till u see brighter days....
(break even atleast??)..

young indians are very smart nowaway, days ...and they dont have a sense of our gurukul culture...please read.. "gurukul culture'... they are nowadays used to the fast track... (not watches / sun glasses) but the same....so i dont believe in the same...

anyways let me give a parting comment...

my own brother who is younger to me by 4 years says....
anna... i want to file for a h1 ...i say why?

btw he works for a decent mnc....

he says i want to make 120K in the us...

i say... thats bullshit ... u hav 2 yrs of exp so what do u think of urself...

he says...
anna u dont know....#@$$$

.... as a C&B guy i know.....but sigh..!!! he thinks otherwise....

my heart and soul lies with creating employability....but not excusing the people who dont end up giving productivity...else i strongly believe ...the ecosystem will not survive.

in a blog every one has his opinion... and i hope i am rite.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3623132.post-1165659928083262182006-12-09T15:55:00.000+05:302006-12-09T15:55:00.000+05:30I did a lot of research on this with a leading Ind...I did a lot of research on this with a leading Indian BPO and our conclusions were very similar to Gautam's.

Moreover, we found that the demographic that actually sticks with the company is generally from a lower income bracket. Unfortunately, there are fewer people in this group who can speak fluent English.

Instead of trying to 'recover' costs from employees (which honestly is not just a bad idea- but will also be a logistical nightmare)-- companies should look to train people who are likely to stay longer.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3623132.post-1165433357993526382006-12-07T00:59:00.000+05:302006-12-07T00:59:00.000+05:30well .. this is a much debated subject..going on.....well .. this is a much debated subject..going on... i think it is fair from the side of Genpact. Why?
beacuse:
1 why should a business exist..beacuse of creating value to share holders.
2 For those who think the victims are those poor employees...let me assure u ... there a thousand more who are willing to work and are not getting the right break...

it all has to do with the "culture"..... fast alluring monies..youngsters who think too much of themselves... not against them... may be i would have thought the same ...but they do not have a clear entreprunerial outlook.... ha ha they do not....so

nothing wrong with a company who is investing in them to hold them back till break even point...else wy invest??Chandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08597135149792166081noreply@blogger.com
