We (Hyderabad BarCamp planning team) have also been wondering how best to publicize the event. Didnt want to use the normal conference channels.. if not for any other reason, atleast for tehr eason that this is an "Un"conference :-). Initially we expected just theblog "virals" to help propagate the event. But we are realising that it hasnt worked as well. Most registrations that happened are a very minimal viral created by circles immediate to the core event team. And to some extent by IIIT & hyd-eclipse.org. One point we are realising is that there is no consolidated blogroll for Hyderabad or even general tech circles in India. So in effect no place where such info can easily be sought and found. One of the tihngs we rae looking at now is to create a Hyderabad blogroll. Hoping the event will help fuel this. If you have any ideas (on where you would expect to find such event info), do let us know.

Hi Gosh,
ReplyDeleteAs ramesh mentioned any thoughts on helping spread the event would be great. Also would be great if you could
let know in advance the topic you would like to speak on.
Cheers,
Rajan
